Winter 2022
Coming back to do work took a big toll, watching Farscape, playing futsal, pockets of brightness, enjoying public policy

This quarter was really difficult because the first half was online. I came back to Seattle as early as I could because I thought that I would not be able to focus on classes back in Pullman. However, I think that was a mistake since I was instead isolated in Seattle and was stuck in my dorm for the most part. This especially impacted my Bio 200 class, since I can remember taking the first two midterms without even finishing all the lectures before the exam. I would be trying to learn while taking the test. I remember struggling because I genuinely enjoyed the material. I just wasn't able to break out of my funk until school got back in-person, as the exams score show.

One positive experience I had in the quarter was going to the UW vs Ohio State tennis match. Ohio State was the #1 team in the country and UW had the #2 singles player in the country. It was a really rocking atmosphere, and helped me remember how much I enjoy tennis (even if I wasn't able to play much in the rainy winter). Going to the match made me want to go to every sport UW offers!
Another bright spot in the quarter was going over to my cousin's house. I don't why exactly that night sticks so prominently in my head. I think it was just that meeting Alina and her roommates reminded me that life goes on and that there is more to life than just school. Playing house rules Sorry and watching Emily in Paris was truly emblematic of that! I also got to learn how to buy groceries and cook some Indian food with her, which was really tasty. She was also really good about asking me questions about my public policy class, which I was wanting to talk about!
